Everlane Denim Review

Last Updated on March 21, 2019 by Jane

Everlane just launched their line of denim and I made sure to snatch up a pair right away. For women they released a mid rise and a high rise skinny style as well as a modern boyfriend fit jean. It took Everlane 6 years to find the right factory to work with (theirs recycles 98% of the water they use) as well as to time the denim market for a return to REAL denim versus high stretch and polyester styles. This is my Everlane Denim Review. everlane denim review

Everlane Denim Review

I wore this outfit to work last Friday pairing the Everlane Mid Rise Skinny with the Everlane Day flat. Jeans can be hard to buy online. These however were a dream to put on. The weight of the denim is a nice heavy weight denim. It feels more like a raw denim that the blends that we are used to these days. But there is 2% stretch in there to allow for some comfort and give.

The mid rise is a 9 inch rise. I would say that some companies might call his a high rise style. It hit me at my belly button. The waist is comfortable and there is no muffin top to speak of because it hits at the natural waist.

The fit for me was somewhere in between a true skinny jean and a straight leg. More of a slim fit. Which is great, This is exactly what I was looking for something classic looking without being so skinny. I think if you are looking for a really ultra fit skinny jean this is not a good option for two reasons. One, it just isn’t cut that way and two the fabric is more stiff and structured as opposed to having loads of stretch. The option too is to size down for a more fitted look.

What I really like about these jeans is the classic wash and the structured fit. The heavier denim holds you in and gives a nice shape. I also know that this type of denim just gets better with age. I think curvy girls will be happy with this denim as it is cut to work with curves instead of work against them. The jeans flatter them and build them up instead of showing every bump and lump. They are also comfortable enough to sit at the office and work without wanting to take these off immediately when I get home.

One thing I haven’t mentioned is the price. These jeans are only $68 USD or about $ 85 CAD, which means they are a pretty awesome pair of jeans for under $100. I don’t remember finding this good of a pair of denim for that price point. I guess the Canadian equivalent would be my Yoga Jeans which have much more stretch (hence the name yoga jeans). Madewell is another one that comes to mind that makes good affordable jeans but it can’t touch Everlane for the ethics behind the brand. Madewell also tends to skew younger with their styles and washes.

What I am wearing: Everlane Denim, Everlane Day Flat, Banana Republic shirt, Mango Suede jacket (similar), Opelle bag

What do you think about the Everlane denim? I would like to see maybe a vintage flare style or a cropped straight leg sort of it girl jean. Also I would like to see a dark wash that is a bit more Rag & Bone-esque. Something that comes off as a bit softer than the dark raw denim I am wearing without being any lighter.
