I just put in an Everlane order and a few of the items are items that I already have in my closet but in a different colour. You know when you are going back for seconds that the company is doing something right. That doesn’t mean that everything from Everlane is awesome. Ok some people might think so but I personally think they do somethings better than others. So after buying and being gifted a bunch of different Everlane products these are my top recommendations on what to buy from Everlane.
What to buy from Everlane
- The Boss Boot – this was my most worn shoe through the winter months hands down. When I first got them I wasn’t sure if I liked these better than The Heel Boot because I love the almond toe and pull on style of the Heel Boot. But the pebbled leather is softer and that pushed the Boss Boot over the top in my opinion. Read my review.
- The Modern Loafer – these were my Everlane gateway purchase. I think they were many people’s starter with Everlane. I haven’t worn these as much as I used to simply because they are fairly used and really look it at this point. But I love the style and the cushioned sole. Mind the fit when it comes to Everlane shoes. Most of the negative feelings expressed about their shoes are because they fit narrow. I am almost always a half size larger than the largest size I usually wear in Everlane shoes. The only exception was the Modern Babo which fits quite generously. Read my review.
- Denim – I was pleasantly surprised with Everlane’s denim. The jeans themselves are fairly minimalist and clean. There is no distressing or rips. What I like most about them is that they fit my curvy figure without making me feel like a stuffed sausage nor having to size up. If you are working with curves on your lower half Everlane’s skinny jeans are ones to try on. I just ordered the Cheeky straight. Hoping they will be a good fit as well. Read my review.
- Italian GoWeave Easy pant – I have always had a hard time finding the perfect black dress pant. One that is flattering on my lower half but that isn’t something I have to wear with heels. So many trousers are either wide leg or super skinny. These are nicely in between. I just ordered them in the olive colour. The elastic waist makes it feel like you are wearing something much more casual but at the same time is flattering. Go with your usual size. Read my review.
- Cashmere – I have two of the cashmere sweaters. One crewneck in black and a turtleneck in a light grey colour. I just ordered a second turtleneck in black. The cut is neither oversized nor slim fit. I sized up in my first turtleneck and I preferred my usual size. Especially in the sleeves. The sleeves have a longer cuff which I love in the middle of winter as it keeps you nice and warm. Read my review.
I have tried a bunch of other styles which were kind of underwhelming. The more time I had with them the less I actually reached for them. The trench coat I shouldn’t have ordered in black because I prefer tan. The tees are just not a good fit for me. And really the fit is all over the map. The flats while I like them take a long time to break in. And as much as the leather is gorgeous on the Day Glove/Flat I just don’t reach for them that often. I think part of that is just Ontario weather doesn’t suit them all that much. Either it is way too cold or too hot and I am wearing sandals. I tend to choose a pointy toe over the rounded toe of the Day series shoe too. They are the best fitting ballet flat style shoe for my foot but still it doesn’t make me choose them regularly. For an Everlane flat I much prefer the Modern Loafer.
