Shorts weather has arrived as we seem to have skipped straight to summer weather. I am not a huge fan of shorts. They never fit the same as pants so I usually size up. Generally I don’t feel as put together as I do in trousers or a dress. Still when the temperatures soar shorts are a must just to survive the summer heat. Sharing 4 pairs of shorts I am wearing 4 ways.
4 Pairs of Shorts 4 Ways
In the past five years I have fallen in love with linen for summer. I have gotten over the whole it wrinkles easily in favour of how light and breezy they feel. Perfect for summer. I sized up in these shorts because I find that linen does shrink so if I want to keep some drape after I wash and dry I size up.

These are the most casual shorts of the bunch. Cotton with large patch pockets on the front. Minimal pockets on the back. Less dressy than the drapey linen style but perfect for the backyard or taking the kids to the park. Definitely on my packing list for the cottage.

Another pair of linen shorts. These don’t have a tie waist and also come in black or brown. I paired them with a navy square neck top but it would look just as cute with another white blouse. Quick and easy great summer outfit. White blouse and linen shorts.

Somewhere between the mushroom colour and the linen styles are these chino shorts. Full disclosure I was gifted these. Usually these types of shorts have some sort of tab closure but I find them so much more flattering as a pull on style. Lets face it elastic waist is more forgiving and allows for a more customized fit. Plus who wants to go back to button closure after the past year and a bit we have had?!
