In a few months we will be heading off on a plane to Brazil. It is going to be quite the adventure since my husband and I have never been to Brazil.
Our friends are getting married in Buzios Brazil, and we plan on being there for the majority of our stay topping of the vacation with a few days in Rio.
So while I look out our windows at mounds of snow I am dreaming of where we will be flying off to in a few months. These are the things at the top of my list, the …
Top 5 things I want to do in Buzios Brazil.
1. Eat on the Beach
Since I started researching this trip one of the activities that has me most excited is eating at the beach cafes littered throughout the beaches of Buzios. Certain beaches have more infrastructure than others but most offer a free chair and umbrella to sit on the beach for patrons. To me it sounds divine!
2. Walk Orla Bardot in the early morning
Orla Bardot is named after THAT Bardot, Bridget. In fact there is a statue of her along this boardwalk. She is credited with taking Buzios from a small fishing village to a tourist beach attraction. A continuation of Rua das Pedras, Orla Bardot is a long boardwalk linking Armacao and Ossos.
3. Visit more than one Beach
There are over 20 beaches in Buzios making it a must do to visit more than one beach during our stay. Certain beaches are good for surfing (Geriba) or snorkling (Canto). Others are calm and better for families. Top on my list is Joao Fernandes, Ferrandura and Rasa Beach.
4. Walk Rua das Pedras in the evening
This is the main street in the city center of Buzios and has everything from shopping to art galleries to restaurants. The cobblestone street is perfect for photo opportunities at the golden hour and finding a great restaurant to sit at late into the night.
For all the pictures it reminds me of walking the streets in Old Barcelona and all the activity along those streets.
5. Shop like a Local in Buzios Brazil
Buzios is going to have plenty of shopping, it is a cruise port after all! But if it is anything like other Caribbean cities I have visited you will find the most touristy spots on the main streets and the further you travel back from the main thoroughfares the more local spots you will find.
I don’t want to shop stores that I can find here in Canada, I want to find something unique to bring home so that I can always remember our trip to Buzios!
Only 3 months to go – where are you travelling this year?

I've only been to Brazil once, Sao Paulo and Rio, with a quick trip to Iguassu Falls (amazing!). I absolutely loved it! I definitely want to return there, and it piqued my interested in trying to plan more travel to South America. I wonder how Rio will have changed with having hosted the World Cup and then the upcoming Olympics! We have no travel plans yet, probably T.O. again to visit my family, ha.

I am super pumped! I am looking forward to seeing the differences between it and Europe and the Caribbean too. But mostly just want to sit on the beaches and relax :)
