I was so pumped last week when I recieved my yellow Madewell denim in the mail last week. But I was a bit shocked by the colour when I unpacked them. They were a bit brighter than I was expecting from the picture. More highlighter yellow.
I tried them on and immediately started panicking as to what to wear with them. Jeans are usually so easy because they are neutral. Yellow denim isn’t neutral.
Yes I could throw on a chambray or denim shirt and be done with it, that is the obvious choice and what everyone else seems to be pairing with their yellow denim but I wanted more than one outfit out of these jeans.
Grey open sweater Winners (similar), Black belt Winners, Yellow Denim Madewell, Boots Joe Fresh (see below, Similar)
I realized that the easiest stuff to pair with these jeans were neutrals, so greys, chambray, white or black. Even nautical stripes go, but I stayed away from black to avoid looking like a bee.
What I liked about this outfit was that it is something I can wear now as the temperatures dip below zero and the flurries fly.
As the temperature gets warmer I plan on ditching the dark grey and pair these jeans with lighter colours.
Oh and the fit of these jeans is amazing. If you are looking for a reasonably priced skinny jean, definitely try these out. Great rise and perfect amount of streatch. And of course they come in other washes other than yellow!
