We are counting down the days until we jet off to Punta Cana for some hot weather, beaches and ocean waves. I think I have as much fun getting ready for dinner every night as I do enjoy the time spent relaxing and decompressing from the day to day. I shared a massive try on post where I shared some of what I plan on bringing with me to Punta Cana but I thought I would do another to share more detail on what I am packing for Punta Cana.
What I am packing for Punta Cana
- Ruffle Sleeve Eyelet Dress – This dress is so pretty on and the lilac colour is THE colour of the season. It is only left now in the black option but honestly I would totally snatch it up in that colour too.
- Straw Hat with Grosgrain ribbon – if you are looking for a new summer hat, something that is different from a fedora this is a great option. The shape is different and I love the ribbon detail. See it on me in this post.
- Wrap floral dress – H&M can be so hit or miss. This dress is a HIT. The wrap works for busty girls who want to wear a wrap but don’t want to wear a camisole. It is so cute. You can see it on me here.
- Don’t Stop Staring – Sunglasses are a must for vacation. I want to bring a cheap and cheerful pair as my just in case pair. These ones are so fun.
- Underwire tropical swimsuit – I didn’t need another swimsuit but I loved the print on this one. When I tried it on I also loved the fit. This is a super affordable option if you are looking for a new bathing suit for summer.
- Pot de Miel – Yes I bought the honey pot bag and I am so glad I did. The shape is super cute. I also snapped up a cross body strap as I know with the kids coming on this vacation that I will need to be hands free.
- Tie waist Skirt – If you have been looking to add some gingham into your life this is a fun way to do it. I love the tie waist on this skit. Want to see it on? You can in this post. I usually pack enough dresses and skirts to dress up for dinner each day of vacation. If you are packing light pack enough to re-wear everything at least once.
- Minorca platform sandals – looking for a sandal that screams summer? These are great. And the ankle strap isn’t high up on the ankle so it doesn’t cut off the leg. Plus the neutral shade means they go with everything. I usually pack 3 pairs of shoes for vacation. I need to make sure I have something for the pool!
- Drawstring t-shirt dress – speaking of the pool I always pack and easy going t-shirt dress to wear as a cover up. I don’t like wandering around the resort in my bathing suit. Plus you need to cover up to go into the restaurants so this way you can do it without changing.
- Ruffle sleeve Tee – First off this top is on sale so you gotta snatch it up. Second I do get sick of wearing dresses all week so I tend to bring at least one shorts and tee outfit. This shirt is so cute it could easily go with a skirt but also with a pair of cut offs.
- Denim shorts with distressed detail – I love the way the distressing looks on these shorts. I said above that I get sick of dressing up which is true. But you also might want to pack some shorts if you are doing any excursions or day trips from your resort.
- Coin necklace – I don’t really like to pack too much in the way of accessories. But one or two bold pieces like this coin pendant are perfect to throw over a dress to finish off an outfit.
- Santorini swimsuit – this is the most flattering swimsuit I own right now. Every time I wear it I get compliments and that is the best! The side panels make you look slimmer than you are which is FANTASTIC. There are a number of different patterns. I also love that you can make it a bandeau style for no tan lines.
- Textured open front cardigan – Planes are cold. I always wonder about the people who are dressed for the sunny destination and don’t layer up for the flight. I always make sure to take a sweater and even a scarf to stay warm.
- Slogan tee – while I want to be warm and comfortable on the plane, I also want to be comfortable when I get off the plane. I make sure to wear light layers under that cozy sweater.
- Wool Runners – now these might be a bit warm for Punta Cana but they are great for the plane and the walking that needs to be done at the airport. They are supposed to be THE MOST COMFORTABLE shoes.
- Skinny jeans – I know some prefer to wear leggings but I still like to keep some structure to my outfit. These skinny jeans are the perfect mix of stretchy comfort and casual chic.
I am tweaking this list as I go but this is what I am packing for Punta Cana. I will share another post of what is going into my make up bag for the trip too.
