Summer Office Outfit Ideas

I have two summer office outfit go to options. Well three technically. I am either in a dress or skirt. I find dresses and skirts are like the office appropriate version of shorts. If I am not in a dress or skirt I am wearing some sort of wide leg pant, preferably lightweight linen. Sharing my Summer Office Outfit Ideas.

Wearing dresses is the biggest transition I make when I am dressing for the office in the summer. I really don’t wear them through the winter months as I find them too cold. But I also add wide leg lightweight trousers to the mix paired with floaty cotton blouses.

Light Cotton Blouses to try

The top from this outfit is a Sezane blouse I have had for a while but it just wasn’t warm enough to wear until recently. I have a number of these light weight cotton blouses to wear with shorts, trousers and skirts throughout the warm months.

Linen pants to try

My trousers are linen. A bit scratchy to start but I know they will soften in the wash.

I sized up for two reasons. First I find this brand fits small. Not only does it fit small but the size conversions are off of what most other retailers use. The second reason is that I wanted them to fit loose and flowy not snug. They are elastic waist so there is some flexibility in sizing.

To put things in perspective these pants are a 48 or an 18. With Sezane I am usually a 44, maybe a 46 if something is fitted. In Everlane I am a 14. I usually wear a 32 or 33 in denim. I am sure the size down would have fit but not in the 1940s mens trousers feel that I wanted. More importantly if you are usually a size 18 I think you would be disappointed that they fit too small. Keep that in mind if you are ordering.

Also note that these pants are cropped on the model but not even remotely cropped on me.

Dressing for the office in the summer is all about loose and floaty. If your office is over air conditioned these outfits would look just as good with a light sweater or blazer.
