Jenni Kayne Chloe Crewneck Review

Jenni Kayne is know for that relaxed California vibe. The brand first came on my radar with their pointed toe mules but lately I have seen their sweaters more than the shoe styles. I decided to try their stripe sweater to see for myself if this brand is worth the hype. The Jenni Kayne Chloe Crewneck Review will share why I think this sweater is a great stripe sweater option.

Jenni Kayne Chloe Crewneck Review

The Jenni Kayne Chloe Crewneck is a 100% cotton sweater that comes in a range of stripe colours. I have the ivory and taupe combination which I thought was a nice change from the usual blue and white that I go for.

The taupe colour also pairs nicely with linen neutrals and light wash denim.

Size wise I went with an XL which according to the size chart is a US 12. I didn’t want the sweater to be fitted and I feel like the XL is good for me.

The fit is a bit cropped and boxy. But not so cropped that it feels too short. It sits just at the waist as opposed to hanging down longer on the hips and bum. That said I would say it fits more comfortably with higher waist pants.

The feel of the sweater is heavier than most summer cotton knits. It is heavier than this favourite Sezane knit. But it is also more expensive than the thinner knits so you are paying for more weight.

I find it a bit heavy for summer but it also would last longer into the colder seasons that other cotton knits. If you are in a warmer area it would even be a year round knit.

Feel wise the cotton is soft and not stiff like some cotton sweaters. The neckline is chunky but not tight which adds visual interest. There is nice drape to the sweater as well. Again this is not your usual stiff cotton knit.

So we have established that this is a lovely sweater with a great shape, drape and softness. But is it worth the price tag?

I think based on the weight of the sweater and how it has a better cut than many of the cheaper options the price is somewhat reasonable. That said there are plenty of cheaper options. So if you aren’t fussed by the details you can get a similar look elsewhere.

If I lived in the US I would order from Jenni Kayne again. However since the prices are not delivery duty paid and they ship Fedex (my least favourite shipper) I find that the additional charges make the shopping experience less pleasant. The Fedex fee was way too high compared to the $10 that is charged by competitors. I think for what the brand charges they should be getting a better shipping option for international customers.

So I highly recommend the sweater but I also highly caution international customers to the additional fees. If you can shop the brand in the US.
