The Ardin Ankle boot is a sleek, stack heeled boot that comes in three different colours and two materials. It has been a while since I purchased Madewell boots but these caught my eye when looking for a brown boot. I will share what there is to love about these in my Madewell Ardin Ankle Boot Review.
Madewell Ardin Ankle Boot Review
The first thing that really made me look at the Ardin Ankle Boot seriously is this cool dark brown leather. This shade is called Turkish Brown.
I mentioned in this post that I was looking for a brown boot that wasn’t suede. I wanted something that could get caught unexpectedly in snow or rain without risking destruction. As much as I love wearing suede it can be a fickle fabric. The Turkish Brown shade was also so different than most brown boots that tend to be warmer and redder based. More chestnut brown or a lighter tan. As much as I like those colours I feel like these would go so well with my wardrobe.
Fit wise I got an 8.5 which is typically what I get in Madewell and I feel like this is the correct size. However they do fit narrow. I would not wear thick socks with these boots. If you want to wear thicker socks size up. I do feel like after a few wears they are getting more relaxed and broken in. I didn’t suffer any blisters or anything but they did feel snug at first especially in my foot with the bunion. If you have narrow feet you likely will be fine with your normal size.
The shaft in this boot is fairly wide. There is a zipper opening with a small elastic notch at the top for a bit of give. The heel is a very walkable 2 inches and there is a slight platform on the bottom of these boots. The toe of the boot reminds me of a western boot where the point is squared off. But it doesn’t have the western heel.
I really like these boots. The colour is fantastic. I really like the suede option too but I have a pair of boots that are really similar. The black would be an instant classic.
If you are looking for a brown boot that is a bit cooler in tone and darker brown than the rest this is an awesome option that isn’t too expensive and is very walkable.
