Three Things I Want: the Spiegel edition

It has been a while since I have done a three things I want post. But when the lovely people at Spiegel contacted me I thought it would be a great way to reintroduce you to a heritage brand that we have all likely forgotten. To be honest I didn’t even know that Spiegel was still around selling clothes.

I remember them from the 1990s when I got a Spiegel catalog sent to our house with others like Lands End and JCREW. The Spiegel product offering might not be as deep as other catalog retailers making waves online, but they have some great options, especially for tailored day looks. Here are the three things I want, styled with how I would wear them.

spiegel skirtShop the Post: Shoes Jill Sander via the outnet, sweater Equipment, jacket Zara, Skirt SPIEGEL.

If I was back working a corporate job I would be into all the tasteful skirts, blazers and sheath dresses that make up the Spiegel collection. There are so many great options for tailored work looks, which is great for those of us that spend too much time at the same stores and end up looking like everyone else at the office. I picked this cobalt blue skirt for two reasons. I find cobalt blue to be super refreshing and I really love the white piping detail that gives it a bit more sporty look.

leopard dress spiegelShop the Post: Jacket MSGM, Dress SPIEGEL, sandals Ikaria, Necklace Stella & Dot.

This silk animal print dress from Spiegel was a no brainer. It looks gorgeous and would be a great summer dress perfect for weddings, beach vacations and even the office if styled correctly. In fact they have it styled with a light beige blazer on the site that makes it look more like a skirt that is totally office worthy. I decided to style this with a more quirky option like the neon yellow jacket and gladiator sandals. I don’t know what it is about animal print lately but I can’t seem to pass it up.

Shop the post: Leather Jacket SPIEGEL, stripe t-shirt Madewell, wedge sneaker Serafini, Denim Rag & Bone (boots are Rag & Bone too).

Except that I have just told you can you guess which item above is from Spiegel?  Yea that gorgeous leather jacket. I think it is the item that I have lusted after the most. It was the first thing I knew I had to share with you! It would look amazing with that leopard dress, but also as a topper for an easy casual look. I love how it plays upon the moto jacket trend but in a really subtle way. That jacket is something that would get worn until it fell apart. Pair it with stripes and either suede booties or wedge sneakers and you have a weekend uniform.

What are you lusting after from the Spiegel Catalog?

***Note I was compensated for this post. I was however given free reign to share whatever styles I wanted and I feel all of these are true to my personal style. ***

I love everything in the Easy Casual Outfit set. I can't wait for the warmer weather to bring out my leather jackets!!! Also - still dying for a pair of wedge sneaker, it seems like a nice pair is extremely hard to find in Ottawa. I guess this means I need to make a trip to the big smoke!

Love the post!!!

Wedge sneakers can be tough because all the styles I love tend to be the expensive ones (isn't that always the way?!). Plus I think the subtler the wedge the better. If you aren't going for the Marant ones, I recommend the Shutz ones I have or the Serafini styles.
