The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2016 is fast approaching. There are two phases to the sale. Nordstrom card holders can get early access from July 14 – 24. Public Access to the Nordstrom Anniversary sale begins July 22 and ends August 7th.
So far Nordstrom has not released a Canadian credit card, but the Nordstrom Visa is accepted at stores in Canada. I haven’t had the greatest experience opening US based credit cards as the one I have will not accept payments from Canadian bank accounts. Still having the Nordstrom credit card would grant you early access to the sale! Apply HERE.
The sale is listed as starting July 22nd in Canada, so my understanding is that there is no early access to the sales in store for Canadians at this time. Perhaps with more stores opening this fall we can see that change for 2017.
So what is the big deal about the Nordstrom Anniversary sale? Well when every other store is putting their end of season merchandise on sale Nordstrom is putting their new fall merchandise on sale before anyone else is even selling it!
This is Nordstrom’s biggest sale of the year and for good reason. No one else is selling top designer brands, fresh for the new season (in this case fall) at slashed prices.
Is it worth shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?
While the Nordstrom Anniversary sale doesn’t have as much hype in Canada as it does in the US, it is a fantastic opportunity to get sale prices on items that wouldn’t go on sale for 3 or four months later.
Now you might say “I can wait for the sales later in the season” because it is too early to shop for coats and boots in July! But so many of the items in the Nordstrom Anniversary sale sell out fast that you might miss your chance on items if you choose to wait.
Are the prices good? YES! As I said before no one else is putting new fall merchandise on sale in July. Still Canadians have to pay shipping and duty. I am hoping that Nordstrom will give us a break on this as more stores open but I expect this to remain the same for 2016. The best deals will be in store for Canadians
Brush up on your prices, look at similar items from previous years and see what they sold for at full price and sale prices to determine if the discount is worth it. Until the sale launches it is hard to say what will be the best deal. Still Nordstrom often discounts designer items you NEVER see go on sale during the Anniversary sale.
When the sale is over all the new fall merchandise all goes back to full price. Take a look at the #NSale catalog to get inspired for the Nordstrom sale!
