While the whole over the knee boot phenomenon seems to be cooling a bit (maybe that is just thigh high boots a la Kim Kardashian), you can’t go wrong with a tall back boot.
But prices seem to soar the taller the boot gets. Usually if you want real leather boots you are looking at dropping at least $300 and more obviously for luxurious designer lambskin tall boots. Enter ShoeMint.
Obviously you aren’t getting an exact copy for $120, but the ShoeMint boot is pretty great inexpensive tall boot. You can see my comments about it here. The major difference is that the lining and sole is manmade, whereas the almost $1000 version is leather lined and has a leather sole and some neat achitectural details.
The Alexander Wang version shown above doesn’t actually go above the knee but more meets it. Marc Jacobs makes an over the knee version that is the same price point. If you are looking for something in between Frye makes amazing tall boots (here or here), but beware. More ofen than not they are zipper free which means you will have to stretch them out or have skinny calves.
Which boot are you lusting after?
