I rarely get so excited about a button down shirt. I picked this shirt out just for the details. The feminine embroidery down alongside the buttons and sleeves was enough to make it a must have. But when I got it home I was even more impressed. This is my Banana Republic Parker Fit Shirt Review.
Banana Republic Parker fit shirt Review
I was a little worried when I ordered this shirt that it would be too small. Especially across the chest. The description says that it is a relaxed fit shirt. Which usually means I am good fit wise. But it also says long lean silhouette. Which can be code for slim fitting or small. Well I am happy to say that the fit is fantastic. And the cut is slimming but roomy in the chest and arms for those of us who are curvy.
I don’t usually choose a tunic fit top. They can be too long for my frame and end up making me look shorter or disproportionate. This option is the perfect length to be lean looking and hides my hips. It was too hot on this day to layer a jacket over but this length is also fantastic for layering. If you have a sweater or jacket you will have tails showing which I prefer.
As I said I picked this shirt because of the detail. This is not just your basic blue top. Now that I know the fit is fantastic on the Parker fit shirt I like the stripe option as well.
I like to have a number of button down shirts for work. They are an easy way to create a professional look without really trying too hard. Fit can be an issue especially if you are getting a slim fitted option which does not allow for an ample chest. So when I find a shirt like this that is flattering, fits in the chest without alterations I need to sing it from the hillsides. Banana Republic is really hitting it out of the part with their button downs lately. I have a few of the Dillon fit but I think I prefer Parker. What do you think?
