2018 has been an interesting year. I turned 40, we had a great student at my day job that made the first quarter go smoothly. We took our kids on their first flight to a resort in the Dominican. My Husband and I toured around London for a week. Some of my friends got divorced this year and I lost a grandparent. It has been a mixed bag for sure.
I feel like my shopping choices have been a bit of a mixed bag too. One of my favourite retailers is going through some issues and I found my go to stores really not my go tos anymore. I think I shed more of my closet than I bought this year (ok maybe not shoes and accessories). And I feel another purge coming on of things that have been hanging around unworn for too long.
Still I want to share my Best Purchases of 2018. The things I bought that I really love and reach for again and again.
Technically I bought these boots at the end of 2017 but I wore them all winter (Jan until end of March) and I am wearing them non stop again. They are so warm and I like the look of them too. You can read my full review here.
If you haven’t noticed I like turtlenecks. They are a great way to survive a Canadian winter. I wear both of these styles (cashmere and the merino shown above) to the office weekly.
The mules are something I wear spring through fall. This style is a good one but not my fave I bought in 2018. I like the look of these but they scratch easily.
The pom pom mules were my favourite shoes of the summer. I wore them to death. Now they even come in blue and lavender in addition to the coral red I have. These are a great buy if you are heading off somewhere tropical this winter.
First of all I love this outfit. It was a good one. The trousers are one of my best of purchases of 2018. In fact I love them so much for the office I now have them in all three colours. They are wool but light enough to wear in the summer. And they wash well too.
The bag I love but it is sold out. Still I carry it regularly.
JCREW jeans have been the best denim for me this year. I replaced all my skinny jeans and even found TROUSER denim. Which is really everything.
JCREW has been so hit or miss for me lately but they are killing it in the jeans department.
Getting to newish winter stuff this hat is so good I bought it in two colours. It is the perfect winter hat. I love the chunky knit and how it is a bit slouchy.
Basically everything in this outfit is a favourite. The cashmere cardigan I wear every day lounging at home. I should really buy another one in a size down for wear outside the house. I took it on the plane to London as well, it is the perfect travel layer.
I love the bag, I just don’t wear it as much as I love it due to the fact it is suede. Read the full review here.
The pointy toe flats are really fantastic. The colour and how good the quality is. Read the full review here.
I feel like I went a bit scarf crazy this fall winter. I bought this because it was the perfect holiday plaid and this because it is a Free People dupe for $20. But the best scarf purchase this year is this leopard square scarf. Expect to see it more on the blog when the Christmas season is over.
Do you have any Best of 2018 additions to your wardrobe?

At the moment I am living in my 'Christmas jeggings'. Black with white Christmas roses and snowflakes on.

I wish I could get away with jeggings right now! Trying to get through the last couple of work days before a Christmas break.
