We have started having much cooler mornings. I am talking below 10 degrees celcius. Single digits. And while it may get up to close to 20 by the afternoon the mornings are chilly.
This black and brown houndstooth coat is something I have been wanting to share for a while but it wasn’t cold enough to consider putting it on until recently.
I have been obsessed with the menswear blazer look that seems to be part of the french girl chic aesthetic. Brown checks or darker houndstooth or herringbone blazers that are a bit oversized borrowed from the boys. But whenever I try it I am reminded I don’t really like blazers that much on me.
This coat I love. It gives the same vibe but I am going to be able to get loads of wear out of it through the winter. I can wear black dress pants with it for the office or wear jeans like I am here.
Usually when you think houndstooth it is the classic black and white. But this brown and black combo really looks great and has a totally different vibe to say this coat. It is less bold and in your face.
Size wise I got this coat in the IT 46, which on the size chart says is a US 10. But I usually wear more like a 12 or 14 and this coat has loads of room. I would say this is really generous if it really is a 10, but it fits more like a roomy 12. If you are not sure what size to get take that into consideration.

I have linked the same sweater but the dark brown I am wearing is from last year. My bag I have had for ages but I bought it via a resale site so definitely not full price.
Are you ready for coat season?
