This weekend was exactly what I needed. Saturday was a bit rainy and not great for being outside. Almost all the snow we had has melted. But I got a long over due hair cut and colour and it feels amazing. Exactly what I needed going into the Holiday season.
Sunday I went to see Fantastic Beasts Crimes of Grindewald. I have seen most of the movies in the theater and it has become a bit of a tradition now to see the Fantastic Beasts movies with my daughter. Supposedly this has been the weakest of all the Wizarding World movies to date. I personally felt it was a good movie but it really doesn’t stand on its own. Unlike most of the Harry Potter Books and movies there was a clear story or mystery for Harry and his friends to solve. The second Fantastic Beasts movie didn’t really feel like it had a clear begining and end. While it dropped plenty of surprises and moved the overall story forward it really felt like the middle of a book. I want to see more but I wasn’t satisfied. I think in an age of binge watching a whole sesason of a series in one weekend, this felt a bit unfinished. However it should feel a bit like a clifhanger shouldn’t it? It is only the second movie of a longer story. I just wish there was a clearer story for the movie that plays into the bigger story. Also there are so many characters that I feel didn’t get enough time. I love Jude Law as young Dumbledore. I still love the main players like Newt, Tina and Jacob. I love Jacob and Queenie together and it broke my heart that she made the choices that she did at the end of the film. I would like to know more about who Nicolas Flamel was talking to before he was activated. So. MANY. Questions!
I wish we didn’t have to wait so long for the next instalment!!
On my drive to my hairdressers new location I found a perfect spot to take some pictures for this little blog of mine. So many good converted factories in our city but this one is extra perfect as it has a parking lot and it is quiet on a Sunday morning. Because I have a full time job and kids etc I usually just use the easiest backdrop for these photos, which is a dead end street in my suburban area. But I really do prefer the downtown options when I can use them don’t you?
I mentioned in this post that I usually don’t go for black coats but I really do love this Aritzia one. It kind of has a fuzzy texture and it is quite long on me which is great for cold days. It is also oversized so perfect for layering knits.
This was the last weekend for a while that will be quiet. Christmas parties and friends weekends, birthdays and Christmas dinners. For the next month we are booked. I am stressing out just thinking about it but going to roll with it because I know many of these events will be fun.

You have some fabulous coats. An item which I have trouble buying as my hips are a size bigger than my chest so unless they come as fit and flare or in a short length I struggle. Black and grey are very much in this winter and I recently bought 2 dresses in these colours which I am loving wearing. Adding red brightens them up from looking classic and makes them have a fun appeal. Love reading your posts. Carry on with your good work and I look forward to your next.

Thanks! This one is quite oversized. Wrap styles could also work for you as they can adjust to however you would tie it. I have a few ideas on scarves to pair with the black to brighten it up for future posts.
