Black with a pop of Printed Pants

printed pants, floral trousers, black faux fur vest, hm fuzzy vestI have a bunch of New Years Resolutions that are blog related for 2014. I will go into more detail about these in an upcoming post but one thing I would like to do is more work or office appropriate looks. Since I myself will be transitioning back into the work world after being at home with my kids for the past 5 years I feel like I have my off duty style figured out, but I have been sort of ignoring trousers and anything office ready.

printed pants, floral pants, black faux fur vest, black pointed toe ankle bootsWhile this look doesn’t have a blazer, or a pencil skirt, it would totally work at even a conservative office. The mostly black ensemble is broken up by the printed pants and the faux fur vest replaces the obvious blazer.

Assuming you don’t have meeting that requires a suit, this would totally work for the day to day of life at an office.

printed pants, floral trousers, black faux fur vestI have pulled these boots out of the archives and I am so glad that pointed toes are coming back (were they really gone?) because these were my winter go to before I could get away with my Sorels day to day.

The all black tones down the boldness of the floral printed pants instead of adding to them with more prints.

printed pants, floral trousers, black faux fur vest, thin turtlneckOutfit details: Printed floral trousers JOE FRESH (last year, similar), tissue turtleneck JCREW, Faux Fur Vest H&M (similar), pointed toe ankle boots Ralph Lauren via Winners, cuff JOE FRESH (old), gold hoop earrings Banana Republic.

I don't know about a very conservative office but in a more artistic one this is a great outfit! I love the vest. xo styleontheside.com

As someone who came from a financial background (I have my CA and have been an Auditor and a Manager of Financial Reporting) it would totally work for that field assuming that you don't have any major meetings.

If you have to wear a suit every day (business formal) then no, obviously. But even as an Auditor I would have worn this later in my audit week. Day 1 at a clients was ALWAYS a suit.

Most offices are business casual and from what I have seen people wear this would be dressier than the majority.

I've been really into cuff bracelets lately, so that's the first thing that caught my eye in this look! I guess I have to start checking out Joe Fresh stuff... This could be dangerous.

I have actually found a bunch of things there. Usually there is one standout piece that looks way more expensive than it is in the collection.

Love this look. The vest and the pants rock together!!! I could totally wear this to my job- no suits required in the film industry! xo Emma http://strollingthecityinheels.com

Awesome! I thought it was a great way to break up the black we all wear.
