Boss Boot Snake Update

It has been a few years since I first bought the original Boss Boots. They are one of my most worn boots. They look professional for the office but also look great with casual outfits. This year they released a snake print version and it is a fashion forward update for fall. Everlane sent me a pair of the Boss Boot Snake Update to try and review.

Everlane Snake Boss Boot Reiew:

The Boss Boot is a modern looking pointed toe boot with a chunky two inch heel. The heel height is perfect for all day walkablity. The original design is made of pebbled Italian leather. While the snake boot is also made of Italian leather but it is not pebbled like the original design.

I do find that the pebbled leather is softer than the snake. I don’t really recall breaking the original Boss Boot in much at all. Whereas I found that the snake feels a bit more snug across the widest part of my foot.

The snake Boss Boot has a seam down the front of the boot whereas my original Boss Boots in the pebbled leather do not have a seam. I don’t know if this is part of the reason they feel like they fit a bit different across the widest part of my foot or if it is just the softer leather. It is also hard to judge because one pair of boots is older than the other.

I will say that the second full day of wear at the office felt more broken in and comfortable. So expect a day or two to work in the boots.

Other than the type of leather and the seam down the middle there really isn’t that much different between the two styles.

The snake print is really one of the best I have seen. Some are only two colours whereas the Boss Boot in snake is three. There is the greeny taupe, light beige and dark brown almost black. The colours are neutral enough to go with everything but also interesting enough to make a statement.

The snake print isn’t just colour but also in texture adding to the realistic look of the boot. I feel like it adds quite a bit to the look of the boots in real life. Definitely ups the luxury factor in my opinion.

I have worn these boots mostly for the office but they totally work with jeans too. I personally like to pair them with jeans that are a bit cropped because they go high enough on the ankle to pull it off. Above they are shown with the pull on dress pants also from Everlane.

If you are looking for a good quality boot that takes on the snake print trend I would highly recommend the Boss Boot version. The shape of the boot and the variation in the colours work to make it a super stylish option. They are also fairly neutral option that allows you to play with the snake print trend but still have it work seamlessly into your wardrobe.
