The Clare Vivier fold over clutch might be one of my most worn bags. I regularly use it within a larger bag to carry my wallet and other must haves so that I can easily change up my bags. It also makes life easier at the school drop off where I can just grab the clutch and leave my tote with my lunch and files in the car.
There are many different styles of fold over clutch but the two most popular styles are the leopard calf hair clutch (shown above) and the camel leather and stripes version. I can only speak to the leopard version; this is my Clare Vivier Clutch Review.
The fold over clutch is a fairly simple style. Just a large rectangle of gorgeous artisan leather with zip closure. Every Clare Vivier bag as a gold medallion for easy zipping.
The calf hair is super luxurious. I don’t think I have ever felt a softer bag. I could just sit and pet it all day!
I am fairly hard on my bags, and while this bag comes with a dust bag I haven’t really kept it safe while not in use. I think mostly because I use it all the time. There is some wear and tear showing at the corners where the calf hair has worn off.
I think this might be one of the drawbacks of the calf hair styles versus a plain leather style, whereas the plain leather would get better with age, the calf hair wears off.
The benefits of the fold over style is that when you don’t have it overly full you can fold over the clutch but you have the room to fill it up and not fold it over as well. The flat clutch is smaller and will hold less stuff.
Clare Vivier lines her clutches with chambray which is a nice contrast to the haircalf and leather.
This bag is an essential for those looking to mix prints in a subtle way.
What do you think of this Clare Vivier Clutch review? Is this a bag you want to carry?
