While I was a bit of a Cuyana die hard for a while; accumulating a number of their bags starting with their classic tote in 2016. Then a few years ago they did a big redesign and discontinued the styles that I had. I wasn’t really fond of look of the System tote. And their new Easy tote didn’t come with zippers at first and had two handles. I was just wasn’t in love with what they were offering. My favourite tote from them was the medium carry all tote, but it too was discontinued. Recently however they launched their Easy Zipper totes, including one in a smaller size. This style while different was close to my workhorse tote from before. So I decided to get one in a colour I didn’t have in my closet and see if it was as good or better. This is my Cuyana Small Easy Zipper Tote Review.
Cuyana Small Easy Zipper Tote Review
The Small Easy Zipper tote is a small version of the Easy Zipper tote which has a zip top closure. It does not come with a cross body strap.
The strap I have added is from another brand but I really like the look so I did not buy the cross body strap to match.
As you can see the Small Easy Zipper Tote (in green) compared to the Medium Carry All Tote (in the stone color) they look very similar but with many small differences.
The thing I notice right away is the over all shape is different. The Small Easy Zipper Tote is more rectangular. It has a narrower base and is a bit longer and not quite as tall. My older tote looks more square but it is actually trapezoidal because the base is smaller and widens to the zipper opening.
The straps are longer on the Small Easy Zipper Tote and the zip top in set inside the bag making it almost hidden.
The straps are attached on the outside of the older tote and the finishing is a bit different too.
The biggest difference though you can’t really see you have to feel. The Small Easy Zipper Tote is a softer more supple leather. The older tote has a bit more structure on it’s own because the leather is stiffer.
The inside of the bag is pretty basic. There is a place to snap your keys. There is also a small non zippered pocket. The other side has snaps so that you can add in some of the system tote accessories. That is another big difference is that this tote is meant to be upgraded.
Add on a strap or a flap bag or even the easy tote insert. You can keep this bag as basic or upgraded as you choose.
What do you think of the Cuyana Small Easy Zipper Tote Review? I personally think this bag is an upgrade. I love the supple leather and the ability to add on some additional organization if I choose.
