Cuyana Zippered Satchel Review

Cuyana is known for producing gorgeous quality leather bags. The type that make you fall in love and want to invest in fewer better things. I have two sizes of the Cuyana totes; one classic and one smaller but zippered. This satchel style is a bit different than your basic tote but still has tote elements. Cuyana Zippered Satchel Review

The Cuyana Zippered Satchel is made from a pebbled Italian Leather. It has both a zippered middle section and open pockets. The handles are wider and longer than a traditional top handle bag. You can definitely carry this bag on the shoulder. There is also a cross body strap so that you can go hands free.

One of the main things that drew me to this bag was the zippered pouch in the middle of the bag. It is perfect for keeping your wallet safe and secure. The open pockets are great for throwing your shades or larger items like a laptop or work documents that you need easy access to.

Unlike the totes I have from Cuyana (this and this), the zippered satchel is lined with leather. It gives the bag more structure than the other styles.

The hardware on the zippered satchel is gold. It goes really well with the cappuccino colour. One thing I noticed is the newer styles come with a gold circle buckle on the crossbody strap which is different from the last time I ordered from Cuyana.

This bag supposedly can carry a laptop. I have a 15 inch and it doesn’t fit sideways but you can carry it as shown above. If you have a 13 inch laptop you can fit it inside nicely.

The zippered section snaps down out of the way but you can leave it unsnapped as well.

This style comes in five colours. Four of them are neutral and one a deep turquoise. I chose the cappuccino colour as I didn’t have anything in this really neutral go with everthing colour. I already have this bag in the stone colour. If I had to pick one colour over the other I still really love the stone colour. And it is an equally neutral go with everything colour.

I like that the cross body strap is removable. I am even toying with the idea of getting a fun alternative like this.

If you are looking for a good quality, neutral, mid priced leather bag this is a great option. I love the functionality of the zippered middle section with two open pouches on the side. You have both the security of a zippered bag but the easy hands on access of a tote.
