This coat is one of my favourites in my closet. It is the one I wear when I don’t know what to wear because I know it will look good with almost anything. I love the way it drapes. It is roomy enough to wear heavier sweaters. It is the GOAT of COATs.
Everything in this outfit is old. And yet I think most things are still available. Except the scarf. That is an old Zara find and Zara rarely if ever produces the same thing twice.
In fact I haven’t seen much in the scarf selection at all yet this year. They used to be a go to for fun options but lately it has been summer scarves and not much else.
I have been trying to determine if my transition to my natural grey hair colour is going to impact what I wear. Part of me says no. I mean my skin colour hasn’t changed. But I will admit that colours that really used to pop with my dark hair don’t have the same effect. So far darker colours and jewel tones do seem to work the best for me. Lighter neutrals are less effective. But then I go and wear this scarf and I don’t hate it. I think it will be quite a bit of experimentation to see what works now. I do still have a bit of the colour remnants to grow out so I won’t know for sure for a while what my fully transitioned hair will look like.

Note that my coat is still made but this colour doesn’t seem to be available in the camel hair option any more. I do think the camel hair version is superior because it is softer and drapier. But I have linked a few options below.
