DeMellier Bags are designed in London and ethically made in Spain or Italy. They are chic modern bags with a distinctive clasp. The bags are named after cities around the world with styles named The London, New York and Santorini. This is the DeMellier Vancouver Bag Review.
DeMellier Vancouver Bag Review
The DeMellier Vancouver Bag is a structured box design. Mine is a raffia and smooth black leather. There are twelve other variations from vegan leather to textured leather and canvas.
The Vancouver bag has an adjustable cross body strap. I have it at the full length above but you can make it shorter.
You can also wear the strap doubled up so that it is more of a shoulder bag without adjusting the length from full cross body as shown below.
Size wise it isn’t as long as my Sezane Milo bag and has fewer pockets. There is no external pocket. Inside there is one large compartment and then one slim compartment. I can fit my large wallet and smaller wallet, phone and keys but it is snug.
For me the standout feature of the bag is the clasp. It is an arrow inspired double bar lock. You push up from the bottom to release the clasp. However I do find it a bit tricky to close. You have to push harder than I would expect to close it but it is easier if the bag is full.
The raffia style that I have is sold out. They have come out with a similar style but the raffia is deep taupe colour as opposed to the lighter colour I have. There are other styles in the raffia if you are looking for the lighter raffia colour.
The Vancouver bag is one of those bags that is both classic and modern looking. The branding is minimal and yet you know it is a DeMellier bag because of the standout clasp.
