If you have been following along on Instagram you know that I just got back from Brazil. I was there for a friends wedding and spent time in Buzios and Rio for the past week. I sorted through alot of destination wedding guest dresses before I found THE ONE! So, I thought I would start off my recap of my Brazil holiday with the outfit that in fact inspired the whole trip. Or rather the event. Our trip to Brazil was inspired by our friends wedding and I needed a destination wedding look.
I found this silk maxi dress on sale and knew right away it was exactly the look I was going for and I snapped it up right away. There is limited sizes left but what I liked most about it besides the gorgeous pattern is the fact that it is silk and not polyester.
The floaty, long maxi skirt on this dress was the perfect beach wedding guest dress. It was a tad long for me even with the heels I chose, but all the taller girls at the wedding thought it would be perfect! I also had to pin the dress shut so that it didn’t gap at the chest. I could have gone with a camisole underneath but I liked the look without better.
I wasn’t prepared for the cool evenings in Buzios while we were there. Because it was their fall the sun set quite early and by 5 pm it was dark.
I used my jean jacket in the evenings even for the wedding as my jacket. It was a good option for destination wedding dresses as the wedding was a bit more low key and less formal than a traditional wedding at home.
Even though the beach wedding dress I chose came with a belt I swapped it out for my trusty Anthropologie embellished belt. Paired that with my silver Ela clutch and I glammed up this maxi dress just enough for this Brazil destination wedding.
Outfit details: Destination Wedding Guest Dress Asos. Embellished belt Anthropologie, denim jacket Gap, Silver clutch Ela, lavender heels Sole Society.
