Do you rebuy your favourites?

I just purchased a yellow cardi from Madewell to replace one in my closet that has seen better days. The older version has cashmere in it and as a result pills, making it look more aged than it is. That said I have had the sweater for a few years now and am surprised I haven’t worn holes in the elbows from so much wear.

I do this with clothes I love, colours and shapes that flatter; I buy them in multiples or replace them best I can when they get worn out.

I don’t just buy replacements of my favourites I sometimes buy in multiples. This was true for the trouser jeans I got at Joe a few years ago. They fit so great and they were so reasonably priced I bought 2 pairs. And I have worn them to death. In fact this style of jean I have in multiple price points too; sometimes the more expensive version is better, sometimes not so much.
I have done the same thing with white tees. I have them in a range of inexpensive basics to pricier versions with more detail.
I have even done this with the Tucker blouse, knock offs of course. I have them in multiple patterns and colours.
Sometimes the multiple phenomenon is because I really like the way something fits, other times it is because I am trying to improve upon a less expensive version that just didn’t turn out as I had hoped.
One thing I am trying to cut the cycle of replacement are my basic silver hoops. I have been wearing a version of them since highschool and it might be time to give them up. They are just so easy to leave in and not have to think about earings. That said I have so many nicer pairs that if I just stop replacing them I will be forced to make better earing choices!
