I am a knitwear person. As soon as we get cooler temperatures I ditch blouses and button downs in favour of knits. Part of it is practical as otherwise I am too cold. Part of it is what I am comfortable in. My latest knitwear obsession was gifted to me by Everlane. This Everlane Alpaca Pom Pom Turtleneck review will share why this sweater has become and instant favourite.
Everlane Alpaca Pom Pom Turtleneck Review
The Everlane Alpaca Pom Pom Turtleneck is made of a mixture of alpaca, recycled nylon and merino wool. It comes in four colours and has subtle pom poms throughout.
The aplaca, nylon and merino wool mix is soft and warm. I love how lightweight it is for how warm it feels. You get the warmth of a chunky knit without having to wear a chunky knit.
Size wise the style is said to have an oversized fit. I take oversized with a grain of salt when it comes to Everlane. I would say the fit is relaxed but still true to sized. Other brands when it says oversized I can size down and the clothing in question is still loose. Only size down in this sweater if you want it more fitted as opposed to loose and realaxed.
One of my favourite features of this sweater is the turtleneck. It is the perfect don’t need to roll over length. It is also not too tight. I hate a turtleneck that is too tight! The nylon content in the sweater gives it some stretch and give. I like how the cuffs are also a bit longer. They are also not too loose. I like the look of a wider sleeve and cuff but warmth wise they let the cold air in. The cuff on this sweater is snug enough to keep the cold out.
This sweater has instantly become a favourite. I think it might be one of my top Everlane sweaters tied with the cashmere square turtleneck. Right up there with my Sezane knits as well. I prefer this style to the cloud turtleneck (too chunky) and their original alpaca knit (not as relaxed).
I think Everlane got so much right with this sweater that they should probably release it it more colours. A red and a black option would be fantastic. It all comes down to the details. The long rib cuffs and the perfect length turtleneck. The mix of alpaca and merino make a lightweight and warm sweater that feels really luxe.
