We got a sneak peek of these mules on Everlane’s instagram and I was smitten as were so many others. It was a picture promoting their black denim that was launching that day but it was the mules that caught my eye. One of the perks of working with a company like Everlane is getting sent stuff to review and I didn’t keep it a secret that I thought these mules looked fantastic. I was offered a pair to be sent and I have been wearing them since they arrived last week. This is my Everlane Boss Mule review in partnership with Everlane. I was gifted a pair of the Boss Mules for review, all opinions are my own.
Everlane Boss Mule Review
The Boss mule is a mule interpretation of the Boss Boot that was launched last fall. I have a pair of the Boss Boots and I love them. I wear them frequently, through the fall and winter. But to be honest when I first saw that sneak peek of Boss Mule I had no idea that they were part of the Boss family of shoes. I was drawn to the pointy toe shape and the pebbled leather. And the fact that it is a mule which is one of my favourite warmer weather styles. The Boss Mules look chic but are so easy to wear because of the slip on style. They look great with cropped trousers for the office and shorts or dresses on the weekend.
The Boss Mule comes in two patent styles and one in the pebbled leather. The pebbled leather is soft and stretches easily to mold to your foot. It is the same style of leather that the Boss Boot comes in as well.
The Boss Mule is said to be true to size. I think if you have a narrow foot I would agree but if you have a wider foot like me I would stick with your Everlane size. I went with an 8.5 which is what I have ordered for almost every Everlane shoe. I only found this too big with the Modern Babo.
The first day I wore them I found them snug but not uncomfortable. I had some rubbing at my bunion but no blisters. Part of the appeal of the mule is no blisters on the back of the heel. The second day I wore them I noticed they didn’t feel so snug. There is a slight heel which keeps this flat from being totally flat. The bottom is not leather but more rubbery which keeps the Boss Mule from being slippy.
I prefer the fit of these shoes compared to the Day Glove. While the fit of the Boss Mule might be a bit snug I feel these shoes getting more comfortable with wear. There is nothing in the design keeping the leather from stretching across my foot. The Day Glove has the cushioning and comfort of a sneaker but for the stitching across the top of the foot. The stitching restricts the stretch across the top of my foot which is not ideal.
I would like to see the Boss Mule in more colours in the pebbled leather. I am not fond of patent as it doesn’t usually stretch as well as plain leather. But I do like the burgundy pebbled leather that the Boss Loafer and Boss Boot can be found in. It may not be the best shoe for long days of walking but it is a great looking and comfortable shoe for the office and errands.
What do you think of the Everlane Boss Mule review? It is going to be my go to shoe for the office until I really must put socks on every day. And it will be the first shoe I pull out again once the Spring weather comes back.
PS. Everlane has opened up international shipping and lowered the threshold for free shipping to $100. There is only a few days left because it only lasts until the end of the month.
