Transition season can be so hard to dress for. You need a jacket but not something too heavy but more than just a top. A jacket looks more put together than a sweater. But you also don’t always want to be wearing a trench coat. This is when a modern chore jacket comes into play. You still get the benefit of their third piece that pulls together an outfit. But it isn’t as tailored as a trench coat. Perfect for weekends and afterschool. Sharing my Everlane Cinchable Chore Jacket review below and why this is a great chore jacket option to add to your closet. Note this jacket was kindly gifted by the people at Everlane but all opinions are my own.
Everlane Cinchable Chore Jacket Review
The Cinchable Chore jacket is a light cotton canvas jacket that comes in three colours. The one I am wearing is walnut. The jacket features a hidden drawstring that you can cinch to your liking. There are also three outer pockets and one inner pocket.
I got the XL in this jacket as I wanted it to fit relaxed and not fitted. My JCREW field jacket is more of a shrunken fit and I didn’t want another jacket that fit the same. That said I probably could have gotten away with my usual large size. I do find that there is extra room in the shoulders, upper part of the jacket. It would make for easier layering with knits, but I tend to wear this type of coat with long sleeve tees more than sweaters. If you are broad in the shoulder this would be a great option for you.

The waist is also lower than my natural waist. I compared it with an older chore style jacket I have from many years ago and that jacket also seems to cinch lower than my natural waist. My guess is on someone taller it wouldn’t be noticeable.
What I like about this jacket is the length. It goes past my bum which I prefer for coats. I like that you can cinch and unchinch to your liking and the hidden pocket. It is that perfect style of coat to give your outfit a more relaxed feel whether it is jeans or a dress . I like the weight of the jacket too. It isn’t too heavy but it isn’t flimsy and light weight.
