Everlane Day Glove Review

Last Updated on March 20, 2019 by Jane

Everlane has done it again with another gorgeous Italian leather shoe release. The Day Glove is a flat similar to their Day flat from last year but with some important changes. This shoe is light, has a comfortable cushioned foot bed and a rubber sole. This is my Everlane Day Glove Review in partnership with Everlane. I was gifted a pair of Day Gloves for review, all opinions are my own.

Everlane Day Glove Review

When Everlane contacted me asking if I had wanted to try out the Day Gloves I of course was interested. The biggest decision was what colour to get. I was drawn to the soft pink and the brown which I chose. I will say that the brown is more of a brown grey mix, more mushroomy in colour. The pictures Everlane shows the shoe definitely comes off as lighter than it is in real life.

The fit of the Everlane Day Glove is similar to the others in the Day series (the Day Heel and Day Flat). I picked my usual Everlane size of 8.5 which is a half size larger than the largest size I tend to wear.

The foot bed of this shoe is cushioned which makes it feel super comfortable. The leather is buttery soft which adds to the comfort factor.

However as I do have wide feet I find that there is some snugness across the top of the foot. It will stretch out but that always takes time. I have also felt some rubbing on the heel of the left foot. Make sure to give these shoes a break in period for a better fit.

The heel also has some cushioning as well. I think if you have a snug fit it would soften the fit at the back of the heel.

Everlane Day Glove review

It is hard not to compare the Day Glove with the Day Flat. They are very similar at first blush but as you start comparing them you see many difference.

The most noticeable is that they are made of different leathers. I find the Day Glove softer on the inside. The Day Flat is softer leather on the outside. The Day Glove is unlined leather which will make it easier to mold to your fit giving you a really customized fit once broken in.

Another obvious difference is the elasticized heel versus the cushion heel. I prefer the cushion heel as it feels more comfortable.

The sole is different too. The Day Glove has a rubberized sole making it less slippy and easier for wearing as Everlane says All Damn Day. This makes the shoe feel sportier even though it doesn’t look like a sporty shoe. Great if you want to wear sneakers but don’t want the look of sneakers.

When I put both of the on at the same time I notice the less obvious difference that the shoes are actually cut differently. The Day Glove fits higher up on the foot. The Day Glove just seems to enclose more of the foot. It is subtle but just enough to feel like it is fitting your foot like a glove.

These differences are enough to say that yes this is a very different shoe even if you might not think so at first glance. I do think they should do that amazing red again though in this style!

What do you think of the Everlane Day Glove review? Are you going to pick it up?

I have a bunion on my right foot, do you recommend? I'm a 6.5 and 7, the Everlane representative told me to go with 7.5.

Hi Marie, I also have a small bunion on my right foot. The leather is very soft and moulds to your foot with wear. I actually found issue with breaking in the section that goes across the top of my foot because my feet are wide. I always go a half size larger than the largest size I wear so what the Everlane representative told you is consistent with that.
