Relaxed and easy styles have become more the norm. We are moving away from skinny jeans and towards relaxed wide leg styles. These jeans take the easy feel a step further and have an elastic waist. These organic cotton jeans have a classic look and soft feel. I was kindly gifted a pair of the Easy Jeans for review but I liked them so much I bought a second pair. Find out why in my Everlane Easy Jean Review.
Everlane Easy Jean Review
The Everlane Easy Jean is a denim version of the Easy Pant (reviewed here). The Easy Jean is a straight leg pull on style with a wide cuff. They come in three colours. The off white and the medium blue I have shown above. There is also a darker blue/black colour. The loosely woven organic cotton giving these jeans a softer feel.
Size wise I got a 14. Prepandemic I wore a 12 at Everlane but not these days. I found the white fit slightly looser than the blue. The blue ones were more snug through the hips. The jeans fit more snug in general than the cotton easy pant.
On the model the pants look to have a cropped ankle cut. On me they are a full length pant. If you are on the shorter side (I am 5’4) don’t expect these to have a cropped fit.
Pockets wise there are slant pockets similar to trousers at the sides of the jeans and there are larger patch pockets similar to a carpenter pant. Personally I would have preferred either a more traditional denim pocket on the bum or even better would have been a welt pocket. The welt pocket would be closer to what you see on the back of a trouser. I think it would have given the jeans a more professional feel but probably too mature for the Everlane audience.
There is no faux fly to disguise the fact that these are a pull on jean. I don’t think these suck you in as much as a traditional jean would with a zipper fly. But they are comfy, closer to sweats than your usual jeans would be. And with the wider leg they come across more tailored.
The off white pair of Easy Jeans were gifted. But I liked them so much I got a blue pair as well. I liked the pull on trouser jean vibe. They have the perfect not too wide, wide leg and the large cuff. They are a good mix of comfortable and tailored.
What do you think of the Everlane Easy Jean Review? Is this a style you want in your closet?
