Back when Everlane first launched denim I tried out their non stretch skinny jeans. Proper denim jeans aren’t truly skinny more of a slim straight jean. They had loads of structure but not the same comfort factor as stretch jeans. I wanted to give the Everlane stretch skinny jeans a try since they are more of a traditional skinny jean. I was gifted a pair and this is my Everlane High Rise Skinny Denim Review.
Everlane High Rise Skinny Denim Review
First off I am going to say these are my new favourite jeans. So much so I bought a second pair with my own money.
Some skinny jeans are super comfortable but have no structure so they tend not to be as flattering. Other skinny jeans are too tight making girls with curves feel like they are squeezing into something that makes you look like a lumpy sausage. Take away the stretch and you have lots of structure but without the comfort factor. Even if they are relatively comfortable they aren’t the type of jean you would lounge around in.
These are not those skinny jeans. The Everlane Authentic Stretch High Rise Skinny is 87% cotton, 12% elasterell-p and 1% elastane. The innovative fabric has a high elastiscity rate which means it has high stretch but still actually looks and feels like denim.
These jeans have a super high rise at 11 inches. But I feel like that is one of the reasons they are so flattering. Because the rise is actually up at just above the waist and hug your curves at the same time holding everything in smoothly. No muffin top with these jeans. Thank gawd.
The only jeans that I have in my closet right now that come close are my JCREW high rise skinny jeans, but I prefer the Everlane ones for a few reasons.
One is that you can choose from different lengths. I chose the Ankle length but they also come in Regular and Tall.
The second reason is they seem to hold and smooth everything without being snug and tight. Of the two pairs of jeans the Everlane ones feel more lightweight and relaxed. But still look sleek and structured.
If you struggle with finding skinny jeans that work with your curves but also flatter them I think you should try the Everlane Authentic High Rise skinny. They go up to a size 35 waist so they are more size inclusive than Everlane used to be that is for sure. There are 5 different washes. I have the Deep Indigo on here. I also bought a washed black pair with the same high rise but slightly different composition from the Choose what you Pay sale.
In fact Everlane has a special edition Choose what you pay sale on right now. You can get the ReCashmere vintage crew among other styles including the Modern loafer at discounted prices. The sale ends at Midnight tonight so shop fast if you are interested.
