I mentioned in my last Everlane review that I have been particularly into wearing turtlenecks lately. And that in addition to the Cashmere turtleneck I also ordered a different style, one I was much less sure of but wanted to try nonetheless. This is my Everlane Luxe Wool Square Turtleneck review.
Everlane Luxe Wool Square Turtleneck review
Luxe wool is Everlane speak for merino wool. This is a thin soft wool knit that is easy to layer under jackets and coats because it is not chunky at all. This sweater is as thin as a t-shirt but oh so much warmer. On particularly cold days I have layered long sleeve tops underneath this sweater without feeling too restrictive or uncomfortable.
I usually steer clear of anything cropped or too square, but on the model the shape looked flattering and more swingy. After wearing the turtleneck more than a few times I can say that the shape is quite nice. It drapes well although I wish the shape was more a-line floating away from the body more.
The turtleneck is more fitted than the cashmere turtlneck but not uncomfortably snug.
What I like most about the shape of this turtleneck is that isn’t snug to the body. It drapes more like a shirt which I find flattering. While cropped it is cropped to the perfect length at my natural waist. I was worried that since I am on the curvy side that the cropped style wouldn’t be flattering. I was pleasantly surprised to be totally wrong. Even if you are busty this sweater is still going to fit well and hang as it should.
I have the sweater in navy and beacuse the knit is thin I have to make sure to layer dark items underneath otherwise it will show through.
The great thing about the weight of this knit is that it will have longevity past the winter season. It is one that you could pull out on a cool summer evening or an air conditioned office. It provides warmth without the bulk.
What do you think of the Everlane Luxe Wool Square Turtleneck review? Is this a sweater you would add to your wardrobe?
