Everlane’s Stroopwafel Crew has an oversized, relaxed fit and is made of recycled cashmere. I like to think of it as the sister sweater to the Stroopwafel turtleneck because they both feature the signature waffle knit texture. This Everlane Stroopwafel Crew Review will share what works and what doesn’t with this sweater.
Everlane Stroopwafel Crew Review
Everlane Cashmere has become a staple in my closet. I love the concept behind the ReCashmere which is made of 100% recycled cashmere. The Stroopwafel Crew is part of the ReCashmere line.
Everlane describes the Stroopwafel crew as oversized. Some places oversized is quite an exaggerated size that might require you to size down, Everlane is not that oversized. I would say it is more a relaxed style as opposed to truly oversized. Get your usual size with the expectation that the fit is relaxed.
Everlane also describes this sweater as having a drop shoulder. I would argue it isn’t a drop shoulder as the vertical seamline which is denoted by the rib detailing is at the physical shoulder. The shoulder seems aren’t off the shoulder.
That said the arms are very drapey and generous on this sweater. Unlike the classic cashmere crew where the arms are fitted, the Stroopwafel crew arms are more billowy and very relaxed.
There are quite a bit of details I love on this sweater. I like the rib detailing at the shoulders and the pretty waffle knit. I like that the crew neck is a bit higher on the neck than a standard crew neck. It is more closed around the neck than a more open or wider crewneck.
The colour I have is cactus flower. On Everlane’s website the sweater looks more orangey red. In real life it is truer to what I have shown here which is closer to a blue red. There are three other colours to choose from.
I like the weight of this sweater. It looks like it could be bulky but it really isn’t. This sweater is so lightweight. It is also soft without being overly soft. I don’t want to pet myself like when I am wearing something faux fur, but it is still softer than a regular wool knit.
The only draw back is this sweater is how large the sleeves are. I don’t mind the look but the more relaxed sleeves lets more cold in than my classic crew.
What do you think of the Everlane Stroopwafel Crew Review? Is this a sweater you have on your wish list?
