Everlane is known for thier affordable basic cashmere sweaters. They have become a staple in my wardrobe because they are classic and super warm. Everlane’s ReCashmere Stroopwafel sweaters have a distinctive textured stitch. The fit is more loose and oversized giving a relaxed vibe. In my Everlane Stroopwafel Turtleneck Review I will share what is great and not so great about this sweater. Everlane gifted the Stroopwafel Turtleneck in black but all opinions are my own.
Everlane Stroopwafel Turtleneck Review
The Stroopwafel Turtleneck has an oversized relaxed fit. This sweater has drop shoulders and a step hem. It is also made of 100% recycled cashmere yarn. The body is a waffle knit whereas the cuffs and turtleneck are a rib knit.
What I like about this sweater is the drape. It almost feels more like a shirt than a sweater because it feels more light and delicate. I like the longer cut. It is less cropped and boxy than the Square Cashmere sweater. It is also looser in the sleeves and body than the classic cashmere sweater. The turtleneck is similar to that of the Cashmere square turtleneck. It is longer than a mock neck but it isn’t so long you have to turn it over.
As much as I love the drapey oversized feel I don’t feel like this sweater is as warm as the classic or square cashmere sweaters. I think this is all down to the sleeve cuff. The cuffs on the Stroopwafel sweater are much looser whereas the cuff on the classic and square cashmere sweaters are longer and snug to the arm. The looser fit does make it easier to layer long sleeve tees underneath the sweater.
The turtleneck is more snug against the neck on the Stroopwafel Turtleneck versus the Square Turtleneck. It isn’t exactly tight but just tighter in comparison. You can also roll it over for more of a mock neck look.
