My everyday style has to stand up against spitup, paint projects and sticky fingers. So most of the time I am not wearing anything too fancy.
Still that doesn’t mean I don’t try to look a bit more put together especially when I am leaving the sanctuary of our house. Well I try most of the time. Assuming I get out of my pjs.
On a regular day when I am at home with my kids I am usually in some sort of jean or cotton pant like the skinny cargos above. Then a t-shirt or tank top layer that a sweater or blazer can easily be thrown over to make the outfit look a bit more finished.
Outfit details; Skinny Cargos JCREW (similar), tank top GAP, long cardigan Club Monaco (on sale now), necklace vintage, glasses Dior (Eyedentity Eyestyles Toronto), Belt Linea Pelle (similar), Flats Winners.
I have been taking advantage of the super warm March we have been having to ditch my bots and wear flats with no socks. These skimmers that I picked up last year at Winners have been a pleasant surprise in that they have been so easy to wear with no real breaking in time. I have been wearing them constantly.
I seem to have been belting everything lately but I think it adds a bit of polish to an otherwise regular outfit. Although it is less necessary for a button down cardigan like above, for the open style cardigans I have it is a must when there is a cool breeze and they are your coat substitute.
When it comes right down to it my every day style is all about washability and accessories that can survive being tugged and pulled at; this translates into alot of cotton, stud earings and chunky necklaces or scarves.
