Its raining. In December. And Usually that puts me into hibernation mode at least for the day. But I knew I would be sorry if I didn’t pop out to see what Gifted and Glam was all about.
When I walked into the location I thought this building is a great setting. It has lost a bit of its grandeur but still had a glamorous feel with the chandeliers and red carpet up to the second floor.
Hot Chocolate was a welcome greeting on a cold wet day!
Ambiance is great but as with any of these events it really is all about the vendors. Tamika always finds the coolest indie brands around. There was a nice mix of accessories, clothing and food. And just as she promised plenty of gift worthy items.
I spent alot of my time at the Bicyclette booth. I instantly fell in love with the strapless silver dress shown above (only $120!!) and a velvet blazer. I am glad they were here because I missed their pop up in Kensington Market. If you missed them too they have a pop up on West Queen West next weekend.
I was also amazed by the accessories from Lauren Elan Collections. She segregates her collections into the various types of events or looks you would be accessorizing.
The feather earings from Hartboutique were crazy cool. So much better than some of the mass-produced versions I have seen elsewhere.
The last booth that really caught my eye was girlnola. gluten free, agave sweetened, and 80% organic. It’s what you assume regular granola is like but that would be an incorrect assumption. What I wish I had of taken some time out to try were the vegan raw truffles. YUMMMM.
Ok there is still time to get your butt out to West Queen West and take in the last couple hours of this great event. Especially if you are looking for a gift that is unique and supports indie designers in Toronto.
