This is the last in our Halloween series with Elements of Fakery. I wanted to reinvent the traditional Cat costume from essentially an all black outfit with a tail and ears into something a bit more bold and fun.
And since I have accumulated more animal print than I would like to admit I thought it would would take the costume from house cat to big cat.
I started with the black base of just black jeans and a black tank top. I considered wearing a cheetah sweater (seen in this post) but I think the vintage cheetah coat and leopard shoes (from Nine West) pop more with an all black background.
My hair was already teased and big from the 80’s Costume shoot but I think it totally works if you think of your hair as a mane like a big cat. I finished off the whole cat theme with a pair of cheapie cat ears found in the Halloween section at a party store.
The girls at Elements of Fakery played with the cat theme with the makeup as well. Bold cat eye, red lips, even whiskers. Find out how to recreate the makeup for yourself over HERE.

Although it would be great for a Halloween costume, I want that jacket for everyday wear!

Thank you Victoria! I actually tracked this coat down via Etsy! One of my prize possessions for sure.

I bust out the cat ears practically every year. Haha! Must try that makeup!

It is such an easy costume isn't it?! Especially since we all have cat print in our closets these days.
