At the end of January I hosted my first Stella & Dot party.
Stella & Dot is a new spin on the old direct marketing model. While everyone else is having Tupperware or Epicure parties I would highly recommend breaking the mould and throwing a Stella & Dot party.
Before even worrying about the party day I had to come up with a guest list. Many people are worried about asking people to come over to shop but my advice is to invite everyone you want to come over. The guests list will edit itself as those who aren’t interested in shopping for jewellery.
I ended up with an intimate group which was perfect for chatting and playing dress up together. Stephanie brought a wide selection of Stella & Dot product for us to look at and try on. Depending on your lifestyle you can set up a Stella & Dot party to suit your needs. A mid-week cocktail party, an office lunch shopfest or a Sunday afternoon tea.
I had my friends and family over on a Sunday afternoon. It was perfect for a mix, mingle and shop while my nieces played with my daughter.
There are perks to holding a party of course. You get a percentage of the total party sales before tax back in free product and discounts. I ended up with two necklaces, a ring and two sets of earings! Everything arrived about a week after the party. The packaging was super cute but what impressed me the most was the quality of the product. I haven’t stopped wearing my Stella & Dot jewels since they arrived!
If you do have an issue with your order exchanges are really easy. Just talk to your Stella & Dot representative. My mom wasn’t able to make it to the party but she ordered via the catalog. A couple of pairs of earrings she ordered were smaller than she was expecting and she wanted to exchange them for something more dramatic. Our Stella & Dot hostess sent over some prepaid shipping tags to send back out items and put through the order for the new items.
I would definitely attend and host another Stella & Dot party. I loved how laid back it was and that I didn’t spend my time with friends quietly sifting through a catalog. My friends and I had so much fun trying on the jewellery and I know they all love the stuff they ordered.
There are a number of Stella & Dot stylists in Toronto & the GTA but I worked with Stephanie and would highly recommend her for your Stella & Dot party!
