Oversized coats have been a style bloggers dream winter coat for a while now. They look fabulous with slim or skinny pants and have the room to accommodate sweaters or extra layers.

I would just as easily wear these oversized coats with a wider leg trouser too. The belted versions would work particularly well with floaty trousers.
If you aren’t into wearing pumps go with a pointy toe flat like these or these. I wear these most of the time while at work and they give a polished look whilst still being super comfortable and easily walkable.
If you keep your trousers or jeans slim then winter boots look equally chic when the snow is piled high as you don’t have to worry about bulky pants getting tucked into boots.
Many of these oversized coats have a more open neckline because the buttons start lower on the coat so make sure to have some of your large scarves on hand for those blustery days.
What I love about these coats is that it doesn’t matter much what you wear underneath. Yes slim pants look best but you can wear a turtleneck, or blouse, even layer under a down vest for those really cold days. Plus you won’t look bunched up or like you are trying to stuff too much underneath your coat.
This happens all the time with fit and flare styles which work better for dresses, but not for bulky sweaters or lots of layers.
