Stripes and colour blocking are huge for spring. And not just nautical stripes of the blue and white variety. No stripes are multicoloured and candy coated.

My issue with bubblegum stripes is that they can look juvenile if just thrown on. I didn’t even go so far as to find some multi-coloured tights as I know my 2 year old has rocked those better than any adult could. Stripes are also harder to pull off as they can add width to even the most slender of bodies.
Like many trends it is much easier to adopt multicoloured stripes in smaller doses through accessories.

I’ve chosen to use the Marc by Marc Jacobs glasses for a hint of stripes but you could just as easily add a belt or switch out the cuff or shoe. The key is to just add a little bit instead of going all out.
If you do decide to go for more stripes, maybe a dress – you could use the solid blue blazer to break up and tone down the stripes. Keep all the other accessories extremely neutral, so the pop of colour and pattern is just the stripe print. It is loud enough on its own!
