This weekend was Canadian Thanksgiving. I hope that you enjoyed some time with your friends and family. We spent Sunday with my husband’s family doing the whole turkey thing. There is always a huge turnout so it can be loud, boisterous and a bit crazy at times. Still Thanksgiving continues to be one of my favourite Holidays.
It was one of those weekends that you had to layer for warmth and not just for looks. But I am actually thankful for this slightly chillier weather, I think I am made for about 10 degrees!
It wasn’t wear a toque, mits and your down jacket weather (at least not for this home-grown Canadian girl), it was more like should I wear a jacket or a scarf weather. It was an either or scenario as with both I was likely to get over heated.
I read about How to Layer like a French Girl recently and tips like always start with a blouse or button down for your base (unless it is really cold) and topping everything off with a scarf had me thinking maybe I should just go with the sweater and scarf combo. And then I decided to pile it all on …
Outfit details; Jacket Club Monaco (on consignment), Scarf GAP (old but just got this one), Sweater JCREW (old but loving this one), denim shirt Joe Fresh, Real Straight Jeans Gap, boots Vintage (similar or these).
And it was a bit much, I would have had to switch to a less heavy scarf. What layers are you wearing these days?
