I made an attempt at filming a June Favourites video but it was a colossal failure. So instead I decided to share what I have been loving beauty wise here instead.
There is a mix of drugstore makeup and some higher end beauty finds.
L’Oreal La Palette Nude 2
You might think this is a poor mans Urban Decay Naked palette, but it is actually pretty amazing. I have been able to create some really great eye looks with this palette. The colours range from taupey beiges to rich browns and then some nude shades with a more purple base. The majority of the palette is matte which is a nice change because so many of the eye shadows I have are sparkly. The colours are richer and darker than the Nude 1.
If you are looking for a more affordable option to Urban Decay you should totally try the L’Oreal version.
Nars Audacious Natalie & Grace
Nars Audacious Grace might be my favourite lip colour I own. And of course it was the one that my son found and destroyed. How do 3 year olds gravitate to those things that will make us the most upset if it were wreaked?! It was a must replace.
Nars Audacious Natalie is a new shade to me and as you can see from above it is a softer option and also very flattering. It is a lovely shade for day whether you are looking for something for the office or even for a wedding (such a gorgeous soft pink).
Flower Beauty Lip Suede
I know I am late to the party but I wanted to test out some of the Flower Beauty products. I chose the Lip Suede Velvet Lip Chubby in Coral Floral. I really didn’t need to accumulate another orangey red lip colour but it is a nice product and lip chubbies are so easy to apply. Something to leave in your purse for easy touch ups on the go.
The Flower Beauty Lip Suede is really similar to the Revlon ColorBurst Velvet Matte pencils but without all the minty flavour. If you are looking for something that is close but without the mint try the Flower Beauty versions.
Flower Beauty Kiss Me Twice Lip & Cheek Chubby
If you are into cream blush but don’t like to have to apply it this cheek chubby makes it super easy. It goes on creamy and then drys more matte or like a powder blush. The colour is a nice pop of pink. I do find that it is easier to get a bit heavy handed but if you just dab as opposed to swipe it works.
I am not so sure about it working for my lips, due to the shape it is not as lip friendly as cheek friendly. Let me know if you have tried this for your lips in the comments.
L’Oreal True Match Anti-Fatigue Illuminating Concealer
I have tried many under eye concealers. So many of them are thick and goopy. Some are a two step process. This concealer is much lighter. Plus the applicator makes things super easy. Just turn the bottom and brush it on and layer up to your satisfaction. I prefer to layer up as opposed to have to worry about putting too much on to start.
Bobbi Brown Perfectly Defined Long Wear Brow Pencil
Like most of us I have spots that need to be filled in on my brows and to define the shape a bit better. What sets this brow pencil apart from the rest is the shape of the pencil. Most are essentially a pencil crayon. This one has more of a rectangular shape that allows you to fill in the widest part of your brow the width way and then switch to the point to define and fill the rest of your brow.
Plus there is a brow comb at one end.
Bobbi Brown Long Wear Cream Shadow Stick (Goldstone)
The Bobbi Brown Cream Shadow Stick is a one step smokey eye. Easy peasy. Just swipe it on, blend it in and you are done. Or layer some shadows on top for more definition but I am pretty lazy so I like that you get a great eye with just this alone. The colour is called Goldstone but really it comes off as more of a minky brown/grey. There are gold flecks in it so it is a bit sparkly so if you are looking for a matte option this is not it. Still I think it is a must try just because of the ease of use and the colour is pretty flattering. The product itself is creamy but not too wet and pretty pigmented so you don’t have to be heavy handed.
So these are all the products I tried and loved in June! Anything you want to try? Sound off in the comments.
