Yes I am back with another Kemi Telford clothing item. After this skirt I kept my eye out for subsequent drops and the dress style that I have been watching for years dropped again. This time in a cool, colourful retro print. It was meant to be and I will share my Kemi Telford Dress Review about the drawstring dress style.
Kemi Telford Dress Review
The drawstring dress style from Kemi Telford is one of their popular styles that is brought back year after year. Sometimes there is a different sleeve but generally it is the same. The dress is made with a midweight cotton, has a drawstring waist and pintuck pleats through the bodice. The skirt is a full tiered style.
While the drawstring does cinch the waist nicely, it doesn’t go from super loose tent dress down to fitted.
Size wise I got the XL which I think was the perfect size. On the size chart my measurements could have fit the large but I didn’t want the dress to be constricting or just fit. The nice thing about the Kemi Telford site is that you get the models details and size. This gives more insight into how to get the same fit as you will know if the model sized up or not.
If you are a US 12/14 and you are wondering what size to get I can recommend the extra large. But I do recommend taking some measurements to get an idea of what would work. Or go to the size chart of a brand you KNOW fits and compare the measurements.
For me the most important measurement is across the bust as this is where the dress fits the most snug.
When I put it on this dress kind of reminded me of this dress. Really it is just the drawstring style and tiered skirt that are similar. Otherwise the dresses have different sleeves, necklines and while both cotton one dress is more structured (this one) and the other is light and airy.
I can’t review this dress without mentioning the amazing print. In the past I hummed and hawed about the print, the size. And I always left it too long. This time I saw this dress launch and purchased it right away. I love the colours. Especially that red seems to read as one of the dominant colours. I love the retro seventies vibe. Yes it is bold. But I actually love how loud it is. I feel like summer is for bold prints.
