So today is Canada Day, a holiday Monday for all of us Canadians and soon all our American friends will be off for the 4th. So this is a perfect time to talk about Long Weekend Style.
Sandals/cutoffs/sweater/tee/swimsuit/flats
I basically lived in cutoffs and some sort of long sleeved t-shirt or stripey knit. It was cool so extra layers were needed but not so cold we avoided the beach.
I am loving baseball tees right now as a casual topper to boyfriend cutoffs. If you want to glam it up pair it with a metallic flat some layered necklaces and you are good to go.
Dresses seem like they are too much work or too dressy when it comes to the cottage on a long weekend but they are a great option for a beach cover up. Or if you are going out for dinner.
I am all about the bandeau one pieces right now. Something about life after having kids and not having a toned tummy anymore means tank style bathing suits. But I love the option of not having tan lines if I want.
I always seem to pack too much when I am going away for a long weekend but who knows what they are going to want to wear? But when it comes right down to it, I tend to wear the same things over and over. Tees, shorts, slip on shoes. As much as I love gladiators the extra ties and buckles are too much work unless we are going out for dinner.
One thing I do tend to pack as well as all my casual cottage clothing is some exercise type clothing as well as we do go for walks and if I am motivated going for bike rides or rollerblading as well. I find just having some yoga pants or capris are great for active mornings. Some sort of zip up or sweat top is essential for cool mornings.
Are you doing anything (or did you) for the long weekend? What are YOU packing?
