M.GEMI Ships to Canada

UPDATE 2020 MGEMI has stopped shipping to Canada temporarily in response to the pandemic. When I contacted them they said they hopped to start shipping to Canada again soon. Fingers crossed they start shipping north again in the near future.

M.Gemi now ships to Canada and I couldn’t be more pumped. I have been watching the shoes drop on this site since the brand launched a few years ago and was sad that they only shipped within the US. Until NOW!

M.Gemi is an online shoe retailer that sells handcrafted Italian leather shoes without the same luxury markup of traditional retailers. Sounds familiar doesn’t it? Other online disruptors like Everlane have a similar business model of offering quality for less. Like Everlane, M.Gemi is mostly an online retailer with a few fit shops in New York and Boston. The fit shops are simply to try shoes on then if you purchase you order online similar to when you are at home in front of your computer.

Most of the shoes are limited edition, so when they drop you have to shop if there is a style you like. There are a few styles like the Felize loafer that are part of the permanent collection which are restocked, or released in different colours. Others are gone when they sell out and replaced by the next drop of styles.

I was contacted in April via twitter by M.Gemi and although they never followed through with their request for my email (I was probably way to eager!) it did prompt me to check to see if they ship to Canada. Low and behold M.Gemi does ship to Canada now so watch out wallet here I come.

I have ordered a pair of the Felize Driving loafers in Magenta. They are reminiscent of the Todds driving loafer but at a fraction of the cost. I love that there are such vibrant colours which is something that the minimalistic Everlane doesn’t really do to the same degree.

I was also tempted by the Stellato flat as it looks to be the perfect pointed toe flat. They also come in gorgeous colours. I will have to see how my first order goes before I go in for seconds!

The ordering process is easy, simply make sure you are on the Canadian site. The prices are translated into Canadian dollars and there is free shipping and returns. Duty and taxes are charged at checkout so you don’t have to worry about your package getting stuck in customs or last minute fees.

So far I have tested out their customer service and they were fairly quick to respond to my issues with not getting my newsletter discount applied at checkout.
