M. Gemi is known for making goreous Italian leather shoes for women and men. Their prices are more than fast fashion but less that luxury. You have heard me talk about M. Gemi before when I first found out they ship to Canada and when I reviewed the Felize loafer. Since that first purchase I purchased two more pairs of their shoes during their summer sale. This is my M Gemi Stellato review.
M Gemi Stellato Review
The Stellato style is a a pointy toe flat that molds to fit your foot. The flat is actually very flexible adding to the comfort factor due to the sacchetto construction.
I chose the suede option in Bosenberry and there are a few sizes left in this colour on sale. However you can also choose from leather and this suede that looks like corduroy.
I chose the size 8.5 which translates to a 39 in M. Gemi sizing. This is consistent with what I wear in Everlane whose shoes are also made in Italy. I found this size to be perfect for my wider foot. If you have narrow feet you could probably size down or rather stay with your usual size. I recommend using the M. Gemi sizing tool as they will suggest the best fit for your foot using a few simple questions.
I found these shoes to be comfortable out of the box with minimal breaking in time. However I do find that on days where it is hot and humid and my feet are swelling I had more rubbing than usual. I did end up with a blister on the back of my heel that day.
These shoes are leather lined and so soft on the foot. Much like the Felize style I found that the first few wears I had a bit of discomfort due to my bunion but this has since gone away after only a few wears. The shoes really do mold to your foot.
I really love this style as it is the quintessential pointed toe flat. Especially with this colour you can wear these with the most basic of outfits and the shoes just pop. On top of it they are comfortable.
Some reviews are negative about breaking in the shoes. I think if you get the size right you should have minimal problems. But like Everlane I am half a size larger than what I usually wear in say sneakers. Unless you have a really narrow foot I wouldn’t stick with your usual North American size because you will likely find they are at least a half size too small.
The other thing I saw people complain about is the high back on the shoe. What I found is that this is a feature to rave about as this little extra bit of leather keeps the shoe on better than other pointy toe flats I have owned.
I really think these shoes are gorgeous. They look great with just a basic outfit like above but also work well for the office with trousers. I am seriously considering a second pair in a more neutral hue. I like these but I am tempted to try out the leather option.
If I compare the Stellato to the Felize as part of this M Gemi Stellato review, I would say that the Felize is slightly more comfortable only because it encompasses the foot a bit more. I also really like driving with the Felize! The Stellato trumps the Felize on style though. I greatly prefer the way the Stellato looks on the foot. And they are very comfortable on their own as well but the Felize feels a bit more like a leather slipper.
If you are looking for a pointed toe flat that both looks good and feels good I recommend the M. Gemi Stellato. I greatly prefer this one to Everlane’s Modern point.
What do you think of the M Gemi Stellato review? Is this a shoe you have been thinking about buying?

I mostly use them with my Cole Haan black leather loafers - they are line with beige leather and yes, the very inside back of the heel is a little darker, but not too bad. You could try it with those no-see socks. I did that at first, but my socks wouldn't stay put so I gave up on them. I do think the Barriere cream makes a difference though, so it's worth it for me.

I have never found a brand of no see socks that really stay put either.

Hi Jane, those shoes really are gorgeous! I still have my fear of ordering shoes over the internet, and anyway I'm looking at spending a fair amount of money on a new travel bag.
Have you ever used Barriere silicone cream to help with new shoes? I've been putting some cream on the backs of my heels and across the toes and that has helped enormously with keeping blisters at bay.

Hi Patricia, I haven't tried that cream no. Does it sully the shoes at all? I find I can be fine one day and then when it is hot an humid swelling ensues. It unfortunately happens with shoes that fit beautifully other days.
