I caught sight of the Brooklyn Buckle Bag in one of the Mark and Graham marketing emails. This large tote would be great for travelling or commuting to work. It will carry everything plus your laptop and lunch. Or lots of room for travel documents and a cashmere sweater. No matter how you want to use it the Mark and Graham Brooklyn Buckle Bag Review will share what I like and don’t like about this bag.
Mark and Graham Brooklyn Buckle Bag Review
The Brooklyn Buckle bag is made from soft slouchy leather. It is a larger bag that has more in common with a tote than a smaller purse. It comes with a detachable leather shoulder strap.
There is a full zip closure and English brass hardware. There is even a side zip pocket perfect for stashing sunglasses or keys.
When I first got this bag I was a bit underwhelmed. I definitely felt like I had fallen for good styling. It seemed bigger and more luggage like than I had thought it would be.
However the more I have used the bag the more I appreciate that it is just a classic bag that bridges the gap between a tote and a purse.
I think I just loved the Elisabetta Tote so much I thought I would fall for the Brooklyn bag just as quickly but it was more of a slow burn.
The interior of the Mark and Graham Brooklyn Buckle bag is lined in a linen fabric. This bag has a pretty basic interior. There is one zip pocket and then a couple other small pockets and that is it.
One of the things that sold me on this bag was actually changing out the shoulder strap. I think it makes the bag so much better! My strap is found here but Mark and Graham has a bunch of their own straps too to choose from.
The selling features for me is that this a great neutral bag. I love the buckle detail and the versatility of the size of the bag.
There are actually a few versions of Brooklyn bags with the Carry all and Crossbody styles come in smaller and the tote looking more like a traditional tote. The Carry all style doesn’t have the detachable shoulder strap option but it does have a zippered middle interior compartment. The Crossbody style is essentially just a smaller version of the bag above.
