For some bloggers this might be any given Thursday but I usually only buy a little at a time. However I found some fun things for myself and the kids to get us through the rest of the summer. I keep editing out their wardrobe for things they have grown out of while I have found that I was lacking in the good t-shirt department. So here goes a try on haul post.
Crew Neck in Sea Coral – when I was trying to put some outfits together I realized I was missing a red tee. This isn’t true red but it is a nice orangey red for summer. It is a great length and I like the neckline. The cotton is a good weight and fairly soft. Although not as soft as the next option I bought. There is some pulling across the chest, but otherwise I would say the fit is good. When not wearing it tucked in I did like how it sat on my body, smooth instead of lumpy. IT is a keeper.
Paperbag pants – I bought these on kind of a whim. And they turned out great. They are from H&M and I sized up to a 14 because every time I order my regular size things fit at first and shrink in the wash. So I do find there is extra fabric in the crotch area but I expect that once I have washed them it will be more true to size. Note that on the model these look much shorter on me they are more like an ankle crop. Also elastic waist. Seriously comfortable. Keeping them.
Other items I tried:
Tie waist Logan fit trouser – These are a similar idea to the paper bag trousers only without the paper bag waist. They did sit flatter and sleeker on the body but that is all I really really say nice about them. They just didn’t work at all. The tie was too low on the waist it just looked weird and ruined the whole look. Returned.
Soft Stretch Flutter Sleeve tee – I loved the soft feel of this shirt but it ended up looking way too casual. It is hard to see online but the sleeve is a raglan style and really ruins the look of the top. Return.
Tasseled shopper – I thought this would be bigger but I really love the boho vibe. It is more like a summer tote than a big beach bag but keeping it anyways.
Soft Stretch Elbow Sleeve shirt – This shirt is so soft. It drapes beautifully. The neck is a bit higher than I would usually go for but I still like it. Same goes for the sleeves. In fact if you are at all self conscious of your arms this is a great length. I like this shirt for layering but I took another outfit picture to show it untucked (see below). Keeper. I would buy in mulitples if I didn’t already own too many stripe tees. But on the flip side I could always upgrade.
I also really like the paper bag trousers with these espadrilles from last year.
Same tee but with my favourite jeans and a sale find, these suede slides.
My daughter wanted to get in on the action and show all the fun stuff she got too. Ignore the after swimming at camp hair and focus on her cuteness!
Unicorn PJs – my darling girl is obsessed with two things right now. Purple and unicorns. Pretty typical of a 9 1/2 year old really. I always size up in these skinny pjs. She loves them! Keeper obvi.
Unicorn Flutter PJ Dress – also known as a nightgown. I got this because sleeves in the summer is a bit overkill. This fits more generously than the PJ set and I probably didn’t need to size up still I like having things grown into rather than simply grown out of. Plus it is PJs! I also like nightgowns because when paired with sleep pants they can work even when kids get too tall for them when paired with sleep pants.
I also got my son (who wasn’t into trying stuff on let alone taking pictures for mom) some PJs. He grows out of things a bit slower than his sister but most of his summer pjs were from last year and they really are getting too tiny. I got him these. They are very soft but I did size up due to the skinny fit. I also got him a pack of these. They are so, so soft and comfy. Everything was on sale.
Two pack cat tees – Second to unicorns, cats are this girls fave. This two pack of tees is super cute. I know there is plenty of talk about kids wearing a more grown up aesthetic and we have some of those clothes but really my kids are past the age where I can just blindly buy them what I like and dress them how I like. They have opinions. And one likes unicorns and the other likes minions. Would I pick this for myself, no of course not, but right now this is her thing.
Embroidery Culotte Short – the shorts aren’t new but well worn since June. They are marked down but I know they come recommeded. Elastic waist and super pretty. They are also very light weight . Second favourite only to these.
Just for completeness that is the second cat tee that comes in the two pack.
My son also got some things from H&M. He was miffed because one was a “duplicate” because I was getting another pair of his favorite slim sweatpants. These are perfect if you have a skinny guy in your house. I also got him a green hoodie because green is his fave.
And there you have it. All the new fun things we found this week. Some are going back but most were great. I do still have some things from the Nordstrom sale coming but they are more fall items. And some Sephora things to share once I have used them a bit.
