IF this weekend is any indication Spring is coming. And you know what that means? It is trench coat season. This year I want to try something a bit different, something longer when it comes to the trenches. I am loving the look of maxi trench coats. Falling somewhere between the knee and to the floor, these longer silhouettes add quite a bit of drama to the everyday trench coat.
Shop the Maxi Trench Coats
- Classic Long Trench – I am all about a classic trench, it is a must have. Love the darker shade of beige on this one.
- ASOS Mac in Midi Length with Pocket Detail – For those of us with a bigger bust the single breast on this coat is more flattering. Also loving the olive colour.
- Belted Crepe Trench Coat – more of a midi trench I like all the traditional details on this option.
- Hooded Double Breasted Maxi Trench Coat – You don’t even notice the hood from the front and I am loving the larger lapels on this option. Plus if it is actually raining your are set.
- Hooded Long Single Breasted Trench Coat – Another hooded option. Love the greenish tone to the beige and that it is single breasted.
- ASOS Mac with Contrast Cuff Detail – This option might be the perfect length. Loving the contrast detail on the cuff for some visual interest.
- ASOS Ultimate Mac in Midi Length – I thought I would throw in a black trench option for those of you who prefer black.
The one thing with these longer trench coats is that you have to pay attention to proportion and fit more than ever. Especially for those of you who are petite, if you err on the side of a larger coat it might look as though you are borrowing something from your taller friend. This is why personally I like the midi length as it won’t be too long for shorter girls.
What do you think of the midi maxi trench coats trend? Would you wear one?
