Some days I feel like wearing things that are dressy or feminine. Other days I feel inspired by more menswear styles. I picked up this pea coat in the sales. The sales are a good time to pick something up that might be a bit more experimental.
This peacoat has a vintage men’s blazer feel. The brown and blue houndstooth is just like something you would find in a charity shop. Even the sleeves feel more like a borrowed from the boys type coat.
I sized down to the US equvalent of a size 10. It still has a bit of an oversized look but I wouldn’t have sized down any more as otherwise I don’t think it would have buttoned up properly.
The quality is great. The coat has a quilted lining which is great for cold winter temperatures. The composition is mostly wool, except for the liner of course.
I am also able to layer really easily under this coat, which also is key for below zero temps.
Ordering this coat was the first time I have shopped ARKET. They just started shipping to Canada last fall. They ship pretty fast once they ship. The packing process seems to be the bottleneck. Since they are owned by H&M I find this pretty consistent with the rest of their network of stores. Purchases are subject to duties but you can easily pay those via the UPS platforms so you don’t have to worry about anything at the door.

What do you think of a peacoat in this menswear houndstooth instead of the usual navy?
